Hey Vertical Fam, Well…as promised…I have a little video for you!  I’m wanting to encourage you all during this time of uncertainty.  What should our response to all that is going on be?  What should it look like?  Below you will find a link to a video teaching as well as Philippians 4:4-7.   Also…This is a time when we want to come together as a church body and minister to one another.  So here is what we would like to propose. 1)    If you are in one of the high risk categories and are sheltering in place or if you have been sent home from work or are not working because of COVID-19 we would like to help.  If you need anything like food, tp, etc would you please respond to this email and let me know so we can figure out a way to help. 2)    If you are not in one of those high risk categories and would be willing to volunteer to take high risk people needed items, please respond to this email to let me know. My hope is that we can connect need with the ability to meet that need.  I also understand that there are probably quite a few of you off work, or maybe just struggling to put groceries on the table.  If that is the case, please send me your need and I will see how we as a church body can help. Ok…so…the video devotional is HERE.  Check it out and keep your heads up church fam…God is still on the throne! In Christ, -Pastor Matt

Philippians. 4:4        Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.  6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Hey Vertical Fam, The leadership team at Vertical has been discussing the recent developments concerning COVID-19.  We announced on Sunday that if the local schools closed, Vertical would close, Boise Public Schools closed just a short while later.  Yesterday the CDC and the Federal government asked that people gather in groups no larger than 10 people. In light of this, Vertical Church has decided to close it’s doors for all services and meetings through the end of the month of March.  This means that any and all functions/groups and services that regularly happen at the church will not be held for the remainder of the month.  We will reassess the situation as we near the end of March to see what the next logical steps are. The City has contacted us and informed us that they are cancelling all events at city parks through May 9th.  Therefore, our annual Easter Egg hunt at the park, will not be allowed to happen there.  We are considering alternatives, but honestly, we need to see where things stand over the next couple of weeks.  It is possible we will still try to hold the event in a much more limited fashion, but we will have to wait and see. We advise people to not panic, but to be very cautious and truly limit their interaction with others especially if you are in high risk categories.  We are taking the President’s calls to limit meetings very seriously, and I encourage you all to do the same.  If we can flatten out the curve of this virus over the next couple of weeks sufficiently, hopefully life can go back to normal sooner than later. I would encourage you all to consider giving electronically if you are able.  You can go HERE on our website and still give.  We appreciate your continued support even though we cannot currently meet.  You have always been generous givers and we thank God for your continued faithfulness. Finally, on a spiritual level…trust God!  I know anxiety can build in these situations, we can have confidence in Him.  I will be working on putting together a video teaching for this weekend, and I will send out more info on that once we get it completed.  I leave you with Paul’s words to the church in Philippians : Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Stay tuned for more info as it develops. In Christ,

-Pastor Matt
